Since Kelo, City Councils all over the country have been bringing the adding machines out of retirement as they struggle to keep up with all the dollars they are going to generate from stealing property from unsuspecting poor people.
Since this Supreme Court Decision generally steals from the poor and gives to corporate America I am amazed it takes California's most conservative State Senator to stop this madness.
McClintock's proposal would require that a government must either own the property it seizes through eminent domain or guarantee the public the legal right to use the property should it be transferred to a private party. In addition, the proposed amendment requires that seized property must be restored to the original owner or his or her rightful successor if the government ceases to use it for the purpose of the eminent domain action.Again I ask: Where are the Democrats on this?
