The NY Post is touting Colin Powell as a candidate. While I doubt it would happen, it's be interesting. I went to Blogs Against Hillary to make sure they picked it up and they have.
I also saw a talking head this morning touting Hillary's Midwest roots. Arkansas, NY, Midwest.

Powell gives the impression of utter weariness of the Beltway. I don't see why he'd be at all motivated to submit to the indignities of a Senate campaign.
Of course he'd be a walkover in any Senate seat he sought, but that's not the issue as much as whether he'd even want a Senate seat in the first place.
I would think Powell would be as bored as heck being one voice--even a respected one--among a hundred.

Illinois, DC (Watergate era), Arkansas, New York. Similar for the Kennedy brothers, who actually grew up in New York, not Massachusetts.
