As is increasingly the case, the big story was started by blogs.
Now it will soon move into the newspapers.
Blogs such as Boi From Troy reported some time ago about the stories surrounding Congressman David Dreier being a closeted homosexual.
Now word is building that the L.A. Weekly will be confirming the story this week on its website and printed editions. The story will also likely appear in the Village Voice and reiterated in a future edition of Hustler.
As a astute commentator earlier suggested, this could be problematic for John & Ken's Political Human Sacrifice since it has the potential to dilute the message voters would be sending by kicking Dreier out of office.
Now if he were to lose in a heavily Republican district,
it would be unclear if he was given the boot strictly because of his horrible record on illegal immigration versus being fired for his sexual orientation.
Quite a shame if it ends up shaking out that way.

Of course, if there's a McGreevey style situation where this guy is being paid almost as much as Rove to do very little, then that's something that should be used against him.

It is one thing if you have a gay lover of his threatening to sue (like McGreevy) so you have solid evidence, but it is entirely another thing if the "news" is just passing on a rumor originating in parts unknown.
The only 'evidence' I've seen is a purported letter from hustler threatening to out him, which could be nothing more than a calculated attempt to smear Dreier. We have all seen how dirty Flint is willing to get when it comes to screwing with republicans.
If anyone here knows of more evidence that I'm not aware of, please link it, because unless there is something out there I don't know about, this whole issue is nothing more than tabloid trash.

No wonder Dave Dreier never touched Doro Bush even though they dated for over a year!! And mama Babs thought it was just because Doro simply had better luck dating Democrats. No deary... guess again. It was because dear Mr. Dreier likes boys, not girls. (see The Family, pg. 492)
