CBS Rolls Out Another Bush-Basher

Ben Barnes, the vice chairman of Kerry's national finance committee, perjured his 1999 testimony in a Bush-bashing interview with Dan Rather.

Barnes' opening was truly classic:

First of all, I want to say that I’m not here to bring any harm to George Bush's reputation or his career.

That's as reassuring as a headsman saying to the condemned, "I'm not here to cause your head to roll from your trunk."

(hat tip: "Lie of the day," Laura Ingraham Show)

BARNES LIED AND HERE IS THE PROOF:

"The problem is not, as some would have it, that Barnes has raised half a million dollars for Kerry. The problem is that Barnes has already lied about this on videotape, and I use the word "lied" without difficulty, where he says he pulled strings for Bush when "I was lieutenant governor of Texas."

The thing is that George W. Bush was sworn into the National Guard in May 1968. Ben Barnes didn't become lieutenant governor until 1969."

(p.s. that op/ed is a must read for info on the proof that the CBS Bush guard documents are forgeries as well)

by the way, clark, did you know about this story?

http://www.intellectualconservative.com/article3765.html

The mainstream media has shifted to blatant partisan lies since the Bush bounce hit. The blatant lies by the 'reporters' at AP deserve more scrutiny, but sadly only DRUDGE carried the story, and blogs, but it fell off the radar and the AP is stonewalling, hoping the story disappears.

Looks like it is up to the bloggers to make sure that doesn't happen.
