The Cheney Conspiracy Files

Oh yeah, it's not a conspiracy. Here's what is on Drudge tonight (I hate pulling the whole thing but he moves those links):

NYT PAGE ONE THURS: BUSH TO DROP CHENEY GOSSIP Wed Jul 14 2004 18:21:14 ET

The latest theory about Vice President Dick Cheney's future on the Republican ticket, advanced privately by prominent Democrats, including members of Congress, holds that Cheney recently dropped his personal doctor because of drug addiction so that he could hire a new one, who will conveniently tell him in August that his heart problems have made him unfit to run with Bush!

So reports the NEW YORK TIMES, in a planned Front Page story on Thursday.

Reporter Elisabeth Bumiller is set to kick the gossip into high gear with a 1,600-word speculative, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE.

Developing...

The New York Times on July 15? How about Calblog on July 4? Ok I had a different spin but I knew it was part of a plan.

UPDATE: When Fox News ran the story this morning, their graphic read CONSPIRACY THEORY?

You just know the DNC is floating all these "Dump Cheney" talking points that have been constantly in the media.

The DNC has already drawn up their playbook of 1001 Ways to Keep the "Dump Cheney" Meme in the News. Now it's simply a matter of rolling out a new bullet point each day for the Bush-hating press* to dutifully disseminate.

(*That there be no misunderstanding, please note that I am speaking above of the 'alphabet soup' mainstream liberal media.)

I want to read about Edwards' secret plan to dump Kerry.

I can start that rumor. Today, Kerry said in his speech to the NAACP that he was tired of this presumptive stuff and wants the convention to happen.

WHAT is he afraid of?

Posted by: justene at July 15, 2004 05:59 PM (Permalink)

That he'll wake up and discover that his role at the convention will be to introduce Howlin' Howard's acceptance speech?

Or maybe the "Torch" rumors about Hillary have gotten to him...

I posted this just for you on Wednesday!

All publicity is good. A link to the real conspiracy would have been nice though. :)

The headline in my post did go to the NYT article...

And you could always ping a trackback to my post, y'know...
