Word comes from MSNBC that sunscreen can be bad for you. Wearing it too often can lead to Vitamin D deficiencies. Now granted the risk is probably mild that one would develop a Vitamin D deficiency, but I take this opportunity to note, that the problem with being alive, is that everything is slowly killing you. More than any other individual "thing," time is what does us in, so be sure to put the time you have to your best use, and not worry too much, about how X, Y, or Z is killing you, because so is A, B, & C. Life is meant to be lived... So how about Medium-Rare!
Posted by Joel at January 19, 2004 05:01 PM | TrackBackI'm certain that soy, which affects women's estrogen levels, has to increase the risk of breast or ovarian cancer (I forget which hormone affects which cancer). In my first year as lawyer, I worked on an environmental matter. Somewhere in our papers on cancer risk was the cancer risk from toothpaste. I figured then that I was just going to have to live my life and not worry.

Makes me think it's not about health, but to insure that we can't enjoy the food we do eat. (No offense to Tofu, okay maybe some offense to Tofu.) If people knew that you could "never" win, they'd probably enjoy life more. I am not advocating eating a lot so you know, it's still wise to consume whatever you consume in moderation...

That don't teach 'em the value of hard work and perseverence, it'll turn 'em into anti-social misanthropes with a penchant for gun magazines and conspiracy theories.

I've just read information from a study conducted in Honolulu that soy has the ability to alternate the metabolism of a cell, almost acting like a drug. Furthermore, the study shows that the continuous use of soy could induce "loss of mental ability and even loss of brain weight."

It just so happens most of the "nutritionists" and other people doing the writing about how horrible and dangerous soy products are happen to be on the payroll of the milk industry which is losing millions of $$ to soy products.
