Rush: How'd He Take So Much?

After the initial reaction of "Rush?" (said with surprise, disappointment or glee, depending on your view of the man), the next question is "how much?" How is that possible?"

The body builds up a tolerance to painkillers as part of the addiction cycle and requires more and more each time to achieve the desired effect. Most of us know that, even if we learned it only from an ABC Afterschool Special. Most people top out, not because of physical limitations but financial costraints. How any addicts have the financial resources to take the number of pills he was taking?

We saw the same phenomenom with Bennett's gambling losses. $8 million? He didn't have an extraordinary addiction. He had extraordinary resources wth which to feed his addiction. Any other gambler runs out of cash before he hits $8 million.

Wealth gives you access -- to the good and the bad.
