An extra Democratic Convention

In Los Angeles, on September 13, to decide whether to adopt the highly creative and surprisingly controversial "No on Recall, Yes on Bustamante." option.

That's the same weekend as the Republican convention in L.A.

Where is the Democratic one? I hope they're at neighboring hotels- talk about sparks flying.

This Democratic convention is stupid propaganda designed to give Bustamante a boost and steal some of the thunder from the Repub one. Is there any chance they won't support Bustamante? Puhlease

Actually, Republicans state conventions are a little...uh...frightening. Filled largely with hangers-on and hacks, they're not the kind of place that you'd want to take your kids to. The sane and professional stay far, far away. If a simultaneous Democratic convention dilutes some of the press attention a GOP convention would otherwise get, that's not entirely a bad thing.

I just hope that they don't burn any effigies this time around.

It's not as if the Democrat Party conventions are all that different.

Angry, yes that's true. Democratic conventions are true freak shows, but unfortunately, the media doesn't seem to enjoy exposing the political extremism displayed at such gatherings.

On the other hand, I've seen myself that twinkle in the eye of television reporters attending State GOP conventions who relish the opportunity to depict all Republicans as extremist, racist, gun-toting white people.

My point is that, at these conventions, the Republican activists aren't exactly media savvy, do not realize that the attending media is hostile, and rarely put their best feet forward.
