The Gift Economy

Dean has put out a remarkable piece about the "economy" of blogs, which is very successful and not based on money. Since I always aspired to that Star Trek federation utopia where there is no money (although they regularly write in money-type systems like credits), I think Dean's hit upon what I like about blogging and being part of the "community."

Yeah. Except, I don't want readers. It's easier to write a private journal here than in private.

So I assume by definition, I am not a blogger.

Hi Justeane,
Just a short comment. As a valuable bloger you are doing this because you want/need to change something about yourself or the world around. After all you will receive recognition and you will deserve it.
